CAMBRIA FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We want you to have the best possible experience of Cambria—and that means making sure all your questions are answered.

WHAT IS CAMBRIA?
Cambria is a Quartz countertop and surfacing product that has a variety of uses in your home or business such as countertops, backsplashes, floor tile, vanities, fireplace surrounds, wet bars, showers, etc. Cambria consists of pure, natural quartz—one of the hardest and most common minerals on Earth—and pigments and binders. Some of our designs have the natural look and feel of granite, marble, and other quarried stones, but they all feature superior performance because of Cambria’s strength and durability. Cambria is nonabsorbent and nonporous and will not absorb food and liquids like granite does. And best of all, it is maintenance free.
HOW DOES CAMBRIA QUARTZ COMPARE TO GRANITE?
Cambria is made from natural quartz, one of the hardest minerals on Earth, for superior durability and performance. With Cambria, you get the look and feel of granite, but receive greater strength and the benefit of it being nonabsorbent and maintenance free. Simply clean Cambria with warm water, a soft cotton cloth, and mild soap, if desired. Cambria is stain resistant and never needs sealing or reconditioning. Granite is a porous stone and needs to be sealed regularly with a chemical treatment. It can absorb liquids and food, risking potential staining and bacterial growth within the countertop.
HOW IS CAMBRIA DIFFERENT FROM OTHER QUARTZ SURFACES?
We are the only American company in the quartz surfaces business. Our design options are also significantly different, reflecting our knowledge and responsiveness to the marketplace. Additionally, we are a family-owned company with more than 60 years of manufacturing experience.
HOW DOES CAMBRIA’S PRICE COMPARE TO OTHER NATURAL STONE OR SOLID SURFACE COMPETITORS?
Generally, Cambria prices are comparable to granite and other stone surfaces. Our trade customers such as kitchen and bath dealers, fabricators, and contractors establish Cambria retail prices.
HOW BIG IS A CAMBRIA QUARTZ SLAB?
Cambria quartz slabs come in three sizes: Standard Slab: 122″ x 55.5″ (310cm x 141cm) Jumbo Slab: 132″ x 65.5″ (335cm x 166cm) Super Jumbo Slab: 136″ x 80″ (345cm x 203cm) Not all designs are available in all slab sizes.
IS CAMBRIA SEAMLESS?
Cambria's slab sizes differ based on the design; the use of seams will vary based on slab size and application. Check with your fabricator to understand what your application will require. Note: there may be a visible pattern and shade change at each seam. However, these seams are often less noticeable than a typical granite seam.
IS CAMBRIA A NATURAL STONE?
Cambria is made from pure natural quartz, pigments, and binders. Quartz is the extremely hard mineral that gives Cambria its strength. Our unique process results in a quartz product of uncommon elegance, style, and superior strength. It’s stronger than granite and is nonabsorbent.
IS CAMBRIA MADE OR MANUFACTURED IN A PLANT?
Our slab manufacturing facility converts natural quartz into slabs by combining pure quartz with a small amount of pigment and binders. Through the recombining process, we are able to create slabs that are nonabsorbent, strong, and compact.

QUANTUM FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What Are Engineered Stone Countertops?
The Engineered stone countertops are man-made stones and consist of 93% Natural quartz and 7% of Unsaturated Polyester Resin. Its pigments are used to provide the colour of the desired choice to quartz surfaces and can be custom-made.In contrast to the uniformity of materials produced by machine or assembly line, stone naturally varied appearance has wonderful character. Uniformity of material, when applied to natural stone, is a term of relative value that needs to be understood when making a selection.
How is Quantum Quartz Manufactured?
Quantum Quartz is manufactured using patented Bretonstone technology. A brief outline of the manufacturing process is described below. 1. Feeding of Raw Material and Mixing The raw materials (quartz, pigments, and resins) are carefully selected and then subjected to stringent quality checks and then mixed together. 2. Moulding and Pressing The mixture is then poured into a mold and formed into slabs of the required sizes. It is then subjected to vacuum vibro-compression. This removes all the air and creates an even and compacted surface. 3. Curing The slabs are then moved to the curing kiln and heated at 100°C to 120°C for 45 minutes which provides the required levels of strength and solidity. 4. Polishing The slabs are calibrated and then polished to a perfect finish. 5. Quality Inspection Every slab then undergoes rigorous quality inspection to ensure it meets our extremely high standards of colour, pattern, and consistency. 6. Labelling, Packing & Dispatch The slabs are then labeled, sorted, and packed into bundles and safely shipped so that they reach our customers in perfect condition.
Where Is Quantum Quartz Manufactured?
Quantum Quartz is a leading manufacturer of Quartz and has state-of-the-art facilities in Europe and India.
What is Quantum Quartz and how it is different when compared to granite & other surface materials?
Quantum Quartz is made of pure natural quartz, one of the hardest minerals on Earth and has great performance and durability. Granite consists of about 40% to 60% quartz, along with other softer minerals and impurities. With Quantum Quartz, you get the aesthetics and feel of granite but possess greater strength and the advantage of it being non-porous and maintenance-free. Quantum Quartz is highly stain-resistant and would never need sealing. Just wash it with warm water, and use mild soap if required. Granite is a porous stone and needs to be sealed regularly. It can absorb liquids and food, risking potential staining and bacterial growth within the countertop.
Is Quantum Quartz A Green Product?
Quantum Quartz is committed to the responsible usage of our natural resources. We always use the finest raw materials extracted from the earth and source them sensitively, and responsibly. The result is a highly durable and enduring material. Quantum Quartz Factories are certified by GREENGUARD, GREENGUARD GOLD as a low-emitting product for indoor air quality and are suitable for all interior surfacing purposes. Quartz surfaces produce no harmful emissions of any kind. Our Quartz factories are also certified by ISO, NSF, KOSHER, and also members of the US Green Building Council.
Are Quantum Quartz Surfaces Safe For Food Preparation?
Quantum Quartz Surfaces are safe for food contact and prevent the growth of any kind of bacteria, mold, or mildew. Therefore, Quartz slabs are usually preferred for food service areas in restaurants, healthcare, and educational facilities, office buildings, and public spaces. To earn the right to use the NSF Mark, Quantum Quartz Surfaces not only met the stringent evaluation and testing requirements of NSF/ANSI Standard 51 but also rigorous, unannounced inspections of its production facilities, which are conducted on a routine basis.
Can Quantum Quartz Be Used For Outdoor Areas?
It is not recommended to use Quantum Quartz surfaces in exterior areas where the product is directly exposed to UV rays or sunlight. The engineered stone consists of Unsaturated Polyester resin which will degrade in the presence of UV light. Thus it is usually preferred to use Quartz surfaces in kitchen countertops, vanity tops, tabletops, wall cladding, and other indoor surface areas.
